Investigation results | Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 provides that foods that were not used for human consumption to a significant degree within the EU before 15 May 1997 may only be placed on the market within the Union after being authorised and included in the Union list of authorised novel foods. To date, the tiger milk mushroom (Lignosus rhinocerus) is neither authorised nor included in the above-mentioned Union list. In addition, the mushroom Lignosus rhinocerus is not part of our Belgian national list of authorised mushrooms that may be used in food or food supplements. Also, many unauthorised medical claims are used on the website. The food supplement is presented as a medicine. This is misleading for consumers and is not allowed. |
