Description | Europol announced that a criminal network distributing horsemeat unfit for human consumption has been dismantled in several European countries. Animals that were too old or labelled as "unfit for consumption" were slaughtered in Spain and after document forgery, were sent to Belgium, the largest exporter of horsemeat in Europe. The police operation led to the arrest of 66 people. |
